Final Project: Final
This piece features the typical frustrations of modern day gaming. In this, we see into the mind of a young man who is obsessed over his losses in Mario Kart to a friend. He spends his extra time facing the TV and slaving away at the game in hopes to gain enough experience and tricks up his sleeve to beat his friend. The second half of the piece features the fated race between the two friends. This piece is here to poke fun of the way guys spend their time playing video games and the fun, competitive nature that can be seen among guys trying to edge each other.
It was definitely much more difficult to put this piece together than I anticipated. It's a good thing I had prior experience to this with my second project. This project presented some challenges that I didn't expect. One, was the recording. For the most part, everything stayed within my scope. From my draft, I had to change up the recording of the friends playing. I took what was said in the final critique and applied it. This means I recorded the interaction between the friends separate of the game music. The game music itself, like the practice round, was taken off the internet. This let me control the audio of the friends and game music separately. I also changed up the narrations due to the apparent lack of emotion in my voice. I also tried to focus the narrations in the second half solely on the battle between Jeff and me. I also tried to keep a structure to the narrations. For the practice session and friend interaction, I tried to keep the same structure to the narrations: a beginning, three middle segments, and an end. All these changes were suggested at the final critique.

Warning: The girl in the video squeals and the audio peaks. Your ears have been warned.
